Fun Fall Wedding Weekend Ideas for Your Charleston Wedding
Fall in Charleston, South Carolina is a little different from the rest of the country-it even looks a little different than in other parts of our state! Our leaves might not be as colorful and the temperature may not be as crisp, but fall is a SUPER popular season for Charleston weddings. I’m a Charleston wedding photographer that’s all about helping make your wedding day fun, and I’d love to give you some inspiration on how to turn your Charleston fall wedding weekend into a treat for you, your family, and your guests beyond the fun of your wedding and reception!
Family Friendly Fun for a Fall Wedding Weekend in Charleston, South Carolina
This Charleston wedding photographer absolutely loves getting to know not only the bride and groom, but their families as well. If your family or wedding party includes little ones, fall in Charleston, South Carolina offers a host of kid friendly activities that both children and adults will enjoy.
Boone Hall Plantation
There’s something for everyone young AND old at Boone Hall Plantation! As a Charleston wedding photographer, I’ve photographed weddings at Boone Hall Plantation on multiple occasions. It’s a favorite lowcountry wedding venue for Charleston brides, but during the fall the plantation comes alive with seasonal fun.
Parents and children will love visiting the pumpkin patch at Boone Hall Plantation. It’s the perfect opportunity to pick out your jack o’ lantern pumpkin, and what’s fall in the south without pumpkin patch photo ops? Whether you’re snapping shots of the kids or perfecting that fall aesthetic for your Insta, the whole family is sure to enjoy a trip to the pumpkin patch. Be sure to check out the corn maze as well!
If you’re looking for something a little more adventurous, Boone Hall Fright Nights are the ultimate source of spooky fun for adults and kids ages 12 and up. Every year there are new sets and attractions, all nestled outside amongst the picturesque farm. This is a must-do for anyone that loves haunted attractions!

Summerville Ghost Walk & Scarecrows on the Square
The annual Summerville Ghost Walk gives couples and families the chance to dress up (if you like!) and take in a guided ghost tour of the town. There are even “ratings” so you can customize your tour for the ages of your group. Hay rides, games, and food vendors help this lowcountry fall event offer fun for the whole family.
Fall Fun in Charleston, South Carolina for The Older Crowd
If you’re planning on making your fall Charleston wedding an adults-only event, this Charleston wedding photographer has got some great ideas for a night (or day) out with your friends!
Want to Plan a Girls’ Night Out On Your Charleston Wedding Weekend? We’ve Got You!
If you want to enjoy an evening with just your girls (or the ladies of the family), Spiritline Dinner Cruises are an excellent choice for something that you don’t get to do every day. You’ll enjoy sunset views of Charleston Harbor, Fort Sumter, the Battery and the Ravenel Bridge aboard the Spirit of Carolina. The 3 or 4 course dinner features local and seasonal favorites which are served in the yacht’s climate controlled dining areas.
The fun doesn’t have to stop after dinner on the Spirit of Carolina. If you want to experience a different sort of “spirit,” schedule a ghost tour after your dinner cruise!
